Father Charged after Violently Throwing Daughter Out by the Hair

On Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 2:29 AM—the Yarmouth Police Department responded to several 911 phone calls reporting an attack at 1 Barn Board Lane in West Yarmouth.

  

Yarmouth Police Patrol Officers Scott Lundegren — James Cheverie — and Christopher Kent arrived at the residence and located a 31-year-old woman in the front yard who stated that her father had been yelling at her, called her several derogatory names, and then beat her with wooden objects.  The woman further reported that he dragged her by her hair and threw her and her husband out of the house.  The woman had visible non-life threatening injuries to her face and neck and bruises on her right arm.

  Yarmouth Police Officer entered the home and met with the father who denied any involvement but based on probable cause, witness statements, and evidence collected at the scene, placed the father under arrest.  He is scheduled for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court this morning.
