SOUTH YARMOUTH –  A single car crash on Highbank Road sent the car’s driver to Cape Cod Hospital with non life threatening injuries Tuesday night. The victim was treated at the scene and transported to CCH by Yarmouth Fire Rescue.

Yarmouth Police Patrol Officer Christopher Van Ness told HyannisNews that he credits the driver for wearing his seat belt. The seat belt, plus airbag deployment saved the driver from much more serious injuries. The vehicle was headed toward High Bank Bridge when the driver impacted a tree causing extensive damage to the vehicle.   The accident is remains under investigation by Yarmouth Police. No charges have been filed at this time.
