On Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at 9:19 PM, Yarmouth Police and Fire Departments responded to the Grand Union Supermarket on Station Avenue in South Yarmouth for a report of a woman found passed out in the bathroom.

Yarmouth Police Patrol Officer Cheryl Nugent Gomsey arrived at the scene and discovered the woman to be under the influence of narcotics. A search of her jacket uncovered 9 syringes—copper scouring pads—and a plastic cap containing white powder.

The woman was examined by members of the Yarmouth Fire Department and subsequently declined treatment.

After initially giving a false name—the woman was properly identified and determined to be the subject of two outstanding warrants from the Wareham and Bourne Police Departments.  She was placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters and is scheduled for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court today.

The person arrested was identified as Aidan V. Hayes, age 22, of 45 Jennifer Lane, Buzzards Bay, MA. She is charged with possession of Class B Drugs. There was an outstanding warrant for larceny of a motor vehicle and an outstanding warrant for possession of cocaine and heroin.
