SOUTH YARMOUTH- On Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 2:35AM—Yarmouth Police Patrol Investigator Scott Lundegren observed a green 1996 Toyota Paseo traveling in an erratic manner on Forest Road.
Patrol Investigator Lundgren stopped the vehicle as it reached the intersection of Route 28 and spoke with the operator who reported that he was operating in that fashion because he was tired. While speaking with the operator—Patrol Investigator Lundegren detected the odor of freshly burnt marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. He further observed a quantity of marijuana scattered over the front of the drivers t-shirt.
Fellow Patrol Investigators Christopher Kent and Christopher Van Ness arrived at the scene and provided assistance. A subsequent check of the vehicle revealed 11 individually sealed packages of marijuana weighing 17 grams along with a digital scale with marijuana residue on it.
The operator was placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters. He is scheduled for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court this morning.
