Revoked Registration Leads To Drug Arrest

On Wednesday, October 03, 2007 at 7:18 AM—Yarmouth Police Patrol Officer James Cheverie stopped a Nissan SUV for having a revoked registration on Station Avenue in South Yarmouth.

  

While in the process of the stop—Patrol Officer Cheverie noticed a large number of hypodermic needles and a clear plastic bag containing a small plastic bottle of water—elastic ties—4 hypodermic needles and a baggie of brown powder heroin on the rear seat.

  

Yarmouth Police Patrol Officers Christopher Kent and Mary Gibney arrived and a further check of the vehicle revealed two bags of marijuana and 9 narcotic pills.

  

The driver of the vehicle was placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters.  After completing the booking process—he was transported to the Barnstable District Court for arraignment.
