OSTERVILLE – Local police are investigating the larceny of a handcrafted wooden business sign valued at over $2700.

At approximately 3pm – Saturday - Barnstable Police Officer Marc Delaney requested an identification officer to the offices of Eagle Painting located at 746 Main Street.  Shortly thereafter, Lieutenant David Cameron also signed off at the scene.

Due to the unique craftsmanship and monetary value of the missing “Eagle Painting” sign, the crime is being investigated as a felony “larceny over.”

Patrolman Delaney is requesting the public’s assistance to help solve this case, and further ads that any voluntary information regarding the missing sign would be held in strict confidence.  Please contact Barnstable Police at 508-775-0387 if you know anything you believe will help in this investigation.
