HYANNIS- Imagine the terror of arriving at an accident scene where your child’s car hit a tree and flipped over.

Early this morning a local father came across just that; fortunately the young lady involved in the one car crash was conscious with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

At approximately 1:00am this morning this blue Honda Civic struck a tree and landed on its roof just west of the intersection of Pine Street and Oak Hill Road.

The tree is located less than two feet from the road’s surface.

Hyannis Rescue workers treated a female on scene and transported her to Cape Cod Hospital.

The father of the victim apparently lives about a block away and arrived on time to help rescue stabilize his daughter on a stretcher.

Barnstable Police closed down the area to traffic and a Barnstable Identification Officer took photos and bagged evidence.  Circumstances leading up to the crash are under investigation.

Hyannis Firefighters were busy cleaning up the roadway after fluid leakage, while a wrecker operator slowly and carefully went about the tricky task of loading a rollover onto a flatbed.
