Ride Stolen While Commuter Showers

HYANNIS- At 4:20am a Hyannis man woke and started his vehicle while he returned inside to shower.  The man was preparing for his morning shift at a local Barnstable Road area convenient store when a local thief apparently did not intend to "car pool."   

When the hygienically prepared gentleman exited to begin his Sunday, he noticed that his Black Ford Focus had been misappropriated.

Barnstable Police were notified and called to the scene, where a Patrolman advised the victim on how to properly fill out a stolen vehicle report.

According to police operational radio chatter the vehicle was located in the Fresh Holes Road area a short time later.

A county crime-scene investigator was beckoned to the freshly recovered auto for identification work.

At 7:15am a Barnstable Police representative confirmed that the vehicle recovered at Fresh Holes Road was indeed the actual stolen vehicle.

Another Hyannis Sunday commuter got his ride back.

It is still uncertain and unconfirmed whether the Car Thief was either beginning or ending his day.
