HYANNIS: At approximately 9:00 AM a three car chain reaction crash was reported to Barnstable Police in front of the Hyannis House near the corner of Pitchers Way and West Main Street. Although the damage to all three vehicles appeared minor in nature it still resulted in two female victims being transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Hyannis Fire Rescue.
All three cars were traveling east bound on West Main Street. A small dark blue pickup truck apparently ran into the rear of a silver Isuzu SUV and in turn, a silver Jeep SUV struck the rear of the pickup truck. The Jeep driver was very upset at the scene and remained in the vehicle.
Two female passengers believed to be the drivers of the Isuzu and the Jeep were transported in separate ambulances to Cape Cod Hospital. The crash is being investigated by Patrol Officer Kelsey of the Barnstable Police. None of the injuries was considered life threatening.
The accident scene was cleared in 45 minutes. During the investigation and treatment on scene of the victims, west bound traffic was diverted down Pitchers way while east bound traffic used the west bound lane of Main Street.
