SOUTH DENNIS- On Monday morning April 9, 2007 a male subject entered the Mid-Cape Home Center located at 449 Route 134.   At this time the subject represented himself to a sales clerk as a contractor from Yarmouth who has an account with Mid-Cape Home Center and has done business with them in the past.

The subject told the clerk that he was running behind on a remodeling job and needed to purchase a microwave and dishwasher for the job and was willing to take the floor models.  The subject completed the transaction, using the contractor’s account and the items were loaded onto his vehicle.

The same individual returned to the South Dennis store on Wednesday April 11, 2007 and at this time completed a transaction with the same sales clerk for a Whirlpool refrigerator.  The subject again identified himself as the Yarmouth contractor and charged it to the same account.

Store Personnel learned later on April 11th of the fraudulent use of the account when the real contractor entered the South Dennis store to purchase items for a job he was working on.

On April 19, 2007 the suspect was observed entering the Orleans store of the Mid-Cape Home Center’s and at this time was confronted by store personnel.

The suspect fled the Orleans store in a white 1997 Dodge Dakota, 4 wheel drive, pick-up which has a regular size cab and extended bed.  The vehicle has the word- SPORT -written in red letters on the side of the vehicle and the vehicle is further described as being in very good condition.

This is the same vehicle used in the earlier thefts.

The suspect is described as a white-male, approximately 25-30 years of age, 6’1” with a medium build and auburn hair.

Anyone with information concerning this individual is asked to call the Dennis Police Department, Detective Garvin Kelley, at 508-394-1315.
