HN VIDEO: Barnstable Police investigating cruiser accident…

HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, Barnstable Police are investigating a cruiser accident where a second vehicle struck a utility pole.

The accident occurred last evening (Tuesday) at about 6:30PM at the intersection of High School Road and Stevens Street.

Hyannis Rescue responded to evaluate the female driver of the second vehicle for minor injuries. The police officer did not appear to have been hurt.

The traffic lights at the intersection had not been functioning properly, blinking on yellow and red… it’s uncertain if that contributed to the crash.

HN NOTE: The police officer driving the cruiser that crashed appeared sober. He remained on scene and immediately called for a supervisor… as most responsible law abiding police officers would.
