WEST BARNSTABLE – Barnstable Police are investigating a hit-and-run which allegedly occurred inside the Crocker Park Cemetery Thursday evening.
At about 6:30PM, police and firefighters responded to the area of Church Street for a report of an accident with injuries.
After a brief search, first responders found two injured pedestrians in the rear of the Crocker Park Cemetery off Church Street. One of the injured needed to be transported to CCH.
According to a source, a young man was meeting a possible buyer of his Jeep which was parked at a nearby residence. The young man initially had called police for a “civil assist” because the vehicle was parked at a residence where he was no longer welcome. As the story goes, everyone was going to meet inside at the rear of the cemetery before going to see the Jeep…
Shortly after the initial call, the circumstances changed drastically into a scene where two young men were injured, reportedly struck by a white F150 pickup truck which had immediately fled the area.
As you will see in the following video, Barnstable police officers, along with a crime scene photographer from the Sheriff’s Office, responded to the rear of the cemetery to document the scene.
According to sources, an unknown suspect driving a white F150 pickup truck suddenly drove into two young men, knocking one of the men into a white vehicle parked on a gravel road to the rear of the cemetery before speeding up onto some grass to make a getaway.
Police interviewed several young adults who were also on scene to the rear of the cemetery when the hit-and-run accident allegedly occurred. According to sources, nobody knew the driver of the white Ford pickup truck… or why he would do such a thing at that particular time… to the rear of that particular cemetery…
The incident remains under investigation by the Barnstable Police… the following video documents the bizarre scene…

HN Note: It’s obvious police are still missing a huge piece of this hit-and-run puzzle and I wouldn’t blame them if they remained suspicious as to whether all of the witnesses were completely forthcoming with information… (but then again, stranger things have happened inside of Cape Cod cemeteries… The young adult witnesses could have actually seen a ghost truck for all we know… or maybe a ghost driver behind the wheel of a real truck…) Also note that other online news sources have the facts to this story completely incorrect at this time. Police are investigating a hit-and-run which they were told happened inside of the cemetery. The above video will further illustrate that fact. (When investigating the possibility of paranormal ghost trucks, it’s important to be accurate. 😉 ) Also note that police were also investigating cell phone text messages which were photographed near the end of the above video.
