UPDATED – Attempted robbery of 14-year-old after he got off school bus… one suspect wore “clown mask…” [VIDEO]
UPDATE – 3/29/2017: The following is the actual press statement/UPDATE from the Yarmouth Police Department:
On Monday, March 27, 2017 at approximately 2:22PM, members of the Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Force, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit, and Detective Division responded to the report of an armed robbery attempt that had just occurred shortly after a 14-year-old victim got off a school bus in the area of Wedgemere Road in West Yarmouth.
Yarmouth Police Officers quickly arrived in the area and met with the male juvenile victim who provided details of what occurred and a description of the suspect. The victim reported he was confronted by two males as he walked home in the area of Wedgemere Road in West Yarmouth who assaulted him and threatened him to ‘empty his pockets.’ One male was wearing a clown type face mask and was armed with what the victim thought was an electronic ‘stun gun’ type of weapon.
A short time later, Yarmouth Police Officers located two suspects matching the description in the area and placed one of them under arrest—who is 17 years old—and detained the second one—who is 15 years old.
The 17-year-old was processed at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and subsequently arraigned in the Barnstable Juvenile District Court.
The investigation continued and the 15-year-old was interviewed by Yarmouth Police Detectives and has now being charged.
Yarmouth Police Department K9 Patrol Officer Kramer and his dog Satu conducted an article search in the area of the attack and located the mask worn during the crime hanging from a tree. Because both suspects are under the age of 18, the Yarmouth Police Department has decided not to release their names. The 14-year-old victim was not physically injured and nothing was taken from him.
The electronic stun gun type device has not been recovered and both suspects are not fully cooperating with police. Anyone with information about the location of the stun gun or more information about this violent crime is asked to contact Yarmouth Police Detective Eric H. Nuss at 508.775.0445 extension 2132.

UPDATE: TASER/STUN GUN STILL “IN PLAY,” not yet located… According to sources, both suspects have been charged with Assault with Intent to Rob. They also both admitted their part in the robbery and blamed each other for bringing the Taser. Both suspects are said to be juveniles. But again, the Taser/stun gun has not yet been located… which means HN cannot in good conscience blur their images at this time… as a dangerous weapon is still somewhere “on the street…”
