HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, seven ambulances needed to respond to a two car crash scene on Route 132 at the intersection of Phinney’s Lane earlier this evening, at about 6:50PM…
A total of 7 patients were transported to CCH. One patient was a priority two… the others were said to be priority three (or less serious) patients…
As you will see, the driver of a vehicle that rear ended the patients’ vehicle was arrested at the scene after apparently failing field sobriety tests.
The two Route 132 lanes heading into Hyannis needed to be completely shut down for a period of time…
Barnstable Police are investigating the crash…

UPDATE – The following is the actual BPD media statement:
On February 10, 2018 at about 7:00pm the Barnstable Police responded to a report of a rear-end motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Iyannough Rd. Rte. 132 and Phinney’s Lane Hyannis. The two-car accident involved a Honda Pilot SUV carrying 7 occupants and a Nissan Altima with a single occupant. Investigation revealed the Altima rear-ended the Pilot, causing minor neck and back injuries to 6 of the 7 passengers. The 6 were transported to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation. The operator of the Altima was identified as 42-year-old Andrey Y. Malko of Randolph, who was administered standardized field sobriety tests at the scene, and ultimately placed under arrest.
Malko was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Monday, February 12, 2018 on charges of OUI Liquor, Operating to Endanger, and Operating with an Open Container.
