CAUGHT BREAKING & ENTERING: Suspect pinned on ground until police arrived… [VIDEO]
MARSTONS MILLS – As you will hear in the following video, last evening at about 9:42PM, a family on Blueberry Lane was shocked when they discovered a man breaking into their vehicle which was parked just outside the door to their home. A male at the Blueberry Lane address quickly charged the suspect, wrestled him to the ground, and pinned him there until police could arrive.
A Barnstable Patrolman arrived and arrested the suspect, transporting him back to police headquarters in Hyannis for booking and processing. Meanwhile, back at the scene, other officers began checking the neighborhood for additional B&Es. During their investigation (which you’ll also see in the video), police obtained evidence on the suspect which led them to an address on Lakeside Drive where they discovered a second B&E into a pickup truck.
Thomas Perry, age 31, of Marstons Mills, was charged with two separate felony counts of Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle in the Nighttime.
Barnstable Police are continuing to investigate…
The following video highlights the scene shortly after police arrived and arrested the suspect. The video contains some of the radio transmissions from the call. The suspect was already in the back of a cruiser and was not in view of the camera.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law…
HN NOTE: The suspect had a small garden shovel/tool which he kept in a sheath on his side. It could have been used as a weapon, and at one point the man who struggled with him on the ground believed the suspect may have been trying to reach for it.
