CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Suspicious HyTown fox… cops and animal control called in… [Videos]
HYANNIS – Officers took positions and attempted to corral a suspicious fox in a family neighborhood yesterday.
Police and animal control were called in when someone became concerned the fox was behaving strangely too near to where young children were playing.
There was a concern the fox could be rabid.
It wasn’t.
A Barnstable Animal Control Officer responded and evaluated the situation, at one point chasing the fox into a nearby backyard. The ACO apparently concluded there wasn’t anything wrong with the fox and no further action was necessary.
All officers were eventually able to stand-down and the fox was last seen smugly lounging in the backyard of a residence on Spruce Street…

HN NOTE: It was extremely busy for local law enforcement last evening. There were hit and run accidents, even one with personal injury that drew the attention of state police, who later captured a suspect in Dennis. HN will try to provide more info… but things are already winding up and it’s beginning to look like another crazy night.
Stay tuned.
