HYANNIS – HN arrived on scene just as a Barnstable Police Patrolman was about to place a woman under arrest for OUI.
But as you will see in the following video, the female driver wasn’t about to cooperate.
She was charged with OUI, A&B PO, and Resisting Arrest… (The passenger was also arrested on unknown charges)
HN NOTE: A bit of advice, when a police officer says you are under arrest, you don’t have the right to resist or pull away. It’s always best to cooperate and go along peacefully. The time to fight a charge is in court, not on the street.
Remember, you’re innocent until proven guilty. Resisting or pulling away during an arrest will only escalate the situation and lead to additional charges.
Also, when an arrest escalates, it places both you and the officers in danger.
In the above situation, it’s a good thing nobody was hurt.
