CENTERVILLE – As you will see in the following HN Video, earlier this evening, an area of Centerville needed to be shut down to through traffic after it took about two hours to battle a dangerous transformer fire involving high tension wires.
Traffic was shut down to through traffic on Phinney’s Lane and Great Marsh Road…
It took about two hours because firefighters needed to wait for an Eversource lineman to respond and shut down power.
As you will see, once power was shut down, COMM Firefighters where able to battle the flames from the ground… and then eventually gave the lineman the appropriate fire extinguisher to the hit the transformer from above.
The extent of power losses in the area are unknown at the time of this report….
