CENTERVILLE FIRE: Both occupants escaped unharmed… [Audio]

CENTERVILLE – Temperatures were in the low teens when firefighters received a 911 call from someone reporting their house on fire.

It was about 12:59AM this morning – Sunday 3/5/2017 – when the first Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Firefighters quickly donned turnout gear and rushed to the house fire at 59 West Terrace…

… firefighters from other towns would soon join them to provide mutual aid.

The streets leading into the small cul-de-sac were tight and first responders needed to carefully plan their approach, parking appropriately as not to get blocked in… or to block others…

Upon arrival, crews found the single story home well involved with flames showing from the front door and several windows.

The two occupants of the home were able to escape the flames uninjured.

According to a press statement by COMM FD Captain Sean Greene, firefighters quickly knocked down the main body of the fire before conducting an extensive overhaul of the building.

COMM Fire received mutual aid support from the Hyannis, Barnstable, West Barnstable, Cotuit, and Mashpee Fire Departments.

Several Barnstable Police units responded to assist. Members of the Barnstable DPW also assisted at the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by COMM FD, but appears to be accidental at the time of this report.
