Poll: Who's dumber?
Are girls dumber than than boys? Or is it the other way around?
Like most guys, I'm quite smart thank you
Hey, just because I'm a girl, it doesn't make me dumb
Men like me have bigger brains. It's science!
I am a girl, and clearly smarter than my guy friends

Gryboski Free, Lancaster Dead, Questions Still

  • There is more to this story than meets the eye. The husband is unarmed, recovering from hip surgery, at least 20 years older that his son and he can only be stopped by his wife shooting him in the gut. This sounds like a case of murder to me. I think two people got away with murder. Shame on those involved in this investigation--if they was an investigation.

  • So, hyannisnews.com, why not tell us if the rumor is true about the DA and the doctor? What is being held back about this case that his office doesn't want the public to know? Not even a trial? Did Mr. Lancaster find something out about his wife and that's why he went crazy on her? Sounds like another unfinished story, once again.

  • Maybe the guy was a monster, but shouldn't there at least be a trial for manslaughter? He was unarmed and recovering from hip surgery. There was another adult male (his son) in the room. Wife had a gun. I don't understand how this could be self defense.

  • How does Bradley Ouimette know that the victim brought "no economic or social standards to the family"? I haven't read anything about Lancaster except that he was a tradesman, was married to the doctor for thirty years, and was allegedly physically abusive. I don't know if Bradley has kids, but if my son's Granny was toting a loaded gun in her purse, she would not be allowed anywhere near my child unless he was strapped to my back in a full body kevlar suit!

  • Lancaster was apparently not very popular, furthermore he is unable to give HIS OWN side of the story, why? he was killed by a DOCTOR with a gut shot, died slowly... conveniently dead before police were called... he was not allowed to offer his dieing words... (he allegedly abused his wife, the evidence on his abuse history is sketchy) THIS CASE WAS MISHANDLED!

  • Ann Landers :), on the personal attack, I definitely have a better relationship with my wife. But, if I punch her while she is driving a car with our grandchild, abuse her for many years, and bring no economic or social standards to the family... Please shoot me. Grand jury's make this country great. Robert, will she kill someone else again? Would a long prison term solve this issue? Maybe she she go back to being a good physician.

  • I was married for 17 years to a man who was a physically abusive rage-a-holic. When he finally broke my jaw and put me in the hospital, I was able to get away from him and file for divorce. Barnstable woke up to the seriousness of domestic violence back in the early nineties. While I understand how Dr. G may have felt, she DID have choices. The police and her grown sons would have protected her. With all the available technology and her considerable financial resources, this woman was in a better position than most battered women to get away from her abuser and make sure that he did not come near her again. If this case involved some welfare mother from General Patton Drive, we would be selecting a jury for a murder trial.

  • Hey Bradley ~ Hope your wife never decides that you're an asshole!!!

  • Bradley, thank you for your comment- please, however, refrain from bad language in the future- I believe I clearly labeled this as an editorial- but here is a question I like to ask whenever there is a domestic murder victim: Bradley- Do you know with absolute certainty that Patrick Lancaster deserved to die?
    (Posted by Robert J. Bastille, 18 August, 2007 17:16:02)
  • So, according to you Bradley, we might as well enact a law that says, if your husband is an asshole you may shoot him twice in the abdomen, provided you are a purported pillar of society and get twenty seven people to testify for you to a grand jury?

  • Robert, This is not news, its an editorial. Questions still? No, an asshole is dead and she can go on healing patients.
