COPS: Man tried to run off with 40” TV from KMart…
HYANNIS – According to sources, a man pushed his luck by returning after already successfully stealing a Samsung Galaxy phone from Kmart earlier in the evening.
At about 9pm on the same evening, this past Sunday, he returned and tried for a bigger ticket item… but instead was confronted by officers offering a ride in one of their own ‘blue light specials.’
Kmart loss prevention had contacted police saying the man had just attempted to run out the door with a 40” RCA Television. The man dropped the TV at some point, as loss prevention officers chased him towards Route 132.
Patrolman Jeff Jackson caught up to the suspect in the parking area between the Christmas Tree Shop and Route 28. Officers brought him back to the scene to be identified by LP officers.
The suspect reportedly also had wire cutters, which were possibly used in stealing the electronic devices.
Police also noted the suspect had tried to run off with valuables from Home Depot the week prior.
Christopher M. Rule, age 33, of West Yarmouth was transported back to BPD Headquarters where he was booked and charged with the felony of Larceny Over $250, as well as Possession of Burglarious Tools.
