BARNSTABLE – As you will see and hear in the following HN Video of yesterday’s Dangerousness Hearings, two suspects in what the court referred to as a “vicious beating” were deemed to be dangerous and subsequently ordered detained without bail in the Barnstable Correctional Facility in Bourne for a period of 120 days as their trials move forward and unfold.
You’ll hear the victim describe an ordeal which left him badly roughed up with a broken rib, stitches, and swelling of the brain from blunt force trauma.
Right off the bat, Nicholas Miller’s attorney informed the court her client wasn’t going to fight the evidence and entered a stipulation he was dangerous…
Dan Barnicoat’s attorney challenged the Commonwealth’s evidence and had the defendant’s mom, dad, and finally the defendant himself take the stand in an unsuccessful attempt to keep him out of jail as he awaits trial on the charges of A&B with a Dangerous Weapon, simple Assault & Battery, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
You’ll hear the Commonwealth cross examine all witnesses for the defense before the judge finally ordered both suspects to be detained for 120 days as the proceedings play out.
