UPDATE FROM CAPE & ISLANDS DA’s OFFICE:
Sarah Allard (DOB: 7/21/85) of Hyannis was arraigned today on charges of
Negligent Motor Vehicle HOMICIDE,
Leaving the Scene of Personal Injury and Death, and
Unlicensed Operation .
Bail was set in the amount of $7,500 with GPS monitoring. Next date 10/7/16 for pretrial hearing.
The victim has been identified as Amber Scanlon (DOB: 4/12/90) of Falmouth, MA.

HYANNIS – At about 9:56PM, police and rescue responded to the area of Pitchers Way and Beth Lane after a young woman was struck by a vehicle which fled the scene.
The first call to police indicated someone in the area screaming. The second call came in through state police dispatch and indicated that police were now dealing with a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian.
As you will hear in the following audio, Hyannis Rescue arrived and immediately notified Cape Cod Hospital regarding a Level One “Trauma Arrest” patient…
The patient was said to be a woman, approximately 20-years-old…
A Barnstable Police Accident Reconstruction expert was called in to investigate the scene…
As you will hear, an alert Barnstable Patrolman located a potential suspect vehicle not far from the scene on Castlewood Circle.
From police audio, it sounds as if two vehicles were towed back to Barnstable Police Headquarters from a residence on Castlewood Circle…
