FALMOUTH BLAZE: Firefighters battled heavy smoke and fire…

At approx [12:45AM] this morning, The FFRD was dispatched to a building fire on Pelican Ln, in the Downtown district. Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy smoke and fire showing from an occupied 2 family duplex. A working fire was struck, bringing the remainder of on-duty Falmouth firefighters, as well as mutual aid station coverage for HQ, and the North Falmouth and East Falmouth fire stations. The fire was extinguished in about an hour. There were no injuries. The fire is being investigated by the FFRD in conjunction with the FPD and State Fire Marshals Office. Thanks again to the Fire Departments from Bourne, Mashpee and Joint Base Cape Cod for thier assistance during this incident.
