CENTERVILLE – [DEVELOPING STORY] Barnstable and state police squad cars converged on a convenient store parking lot for a felony stop last evening…
Current details are based on radio transmissions and sources at the scene…
Last evening, a detective in an unmarked cruiser noticed a pickup truck wanted in a breaking and entering in Harwich. The truck was traveling east on Route 28 in the area of Marstons Mills.
Police had information there could be a high capacity AR-15 rifle inside the truck.
State police declared a “Code One” on their frequency, as troopers honed in on the location of the detective following behind the suspects…
Barnstable Police also scrambled squad cars to Route 28 area in Centerville…
A decision was made to initiate a felony traffic stop as soon as there were enough officers in position.
The stop occurred in the Centerville Plaza in front of the convenience at 1675 Route 28.
Police were not taking chances as they readied their patrol rifles. If firepower was necessary, they intended to do what they had to…
Four subjects, two males and two females, were ordered out of the Toyota Tundra one by one. The scene was not declared secure until all four subjects were handcuffed and placed in separate cruisers.
At the time of this report, Harwich police were not able to discuss this case…

Above photo: Yarmouth police and detectives investigated a sexual assault at the Barnstable / Yarmouth town line. A woman was taken to CCH. The suspect is said to be known to the victim… In the photo, the first officer on scene gathered info from the victim (completely obscured) and a witness who stayed near the scene to help…
Above photo: Barnstable Police responded when a truck struck a house on Bumpus Road in Hyannis the other night. The house surprising only sustained minor damage. The truck was said to be orange. A few blocks away officers found this vehicle abandoned on Louis Street. Police were unable to immediately locate the driver… but they are pretty certain they have the right vehicle…
Above photo: A gentleman out riding along with a Barnstable Police Lieutenant the other night got a pretty good look at what Hyannis officers deal with on a nightly basis. According to a source, a patrolman was near the intersection of Main Street and Winter Street when a young man started banging on his squad car window asking to see a priest… Officers didn’t know what they were initially dealing with. They followed and detained the young man about a block away. Hyannis Rescue was called to the scene. Police and medics had their hands full trying to get the man to settle down and sit on a stretcher. It is believed the young man may have been overdosing on Spice…
