SANDWICH – One person was reportedly entrapped and covered with blood. Firefighters initially referred to the patient’s condition as “priority one,” as they also looked into the possibility of Medflight…
… it turned out the patient was extricated and the injuries were reported as less serious than initially thought.
At about 11:15 a.m., Sandwich police and firefighters responded to the two vehicle crash on Great Hill Road near the intersection with Ridgeway lane.
The road needed to be closed down for a period of time as first responders worked the scene and attended to patients. A total of two patients were transported to CCH with what were said to be relatively minor injuries, considering the impact. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, according to sources on scene.
Accident reconstruction experts were not needed, as officials on scene had a pretty good idea what happened. The crash is being investigated by the Sandwich Police Department.
