HN PHOTOS: Hyannis hotel evacuated after someone maliciously activates dry chemical fire extinguisher…

HYANNIS –
These HN photos illustrate the scene early this morning when a hotel full of guests were rudely disturbed and evacuated after an apparent act of wanton nitwittedness…

According to emergency radio transmissions, Hyannis firefighters and Barnstable police responded to the Heritage House Hotel and started knocking on room doors after observing a possible smoke condition shortly after 1:00AM. It turned out to be chemicals from a fire extinguisher.

The entire hotel, including all the guest rooms were entirely evacuated for about half an hour while officials investigated further and attempted to reset the fire alarm.

It’s uncertain, but a fire alarm pull station may have also been maliciously activated.
