HN VIDEO: 3 car collision sends at least 2 to CCH… slows rush hour traffic…

CENTERVILLE – According to sources on scene, an elderly woman may have entered the intersection through a red light, but that information has yet to be officially confirmed…

As you will see and hear in the following HN Video, shortly after 6:00PM, police and firefighters responded to a report of a 3 vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Route 28 and Lumbert Mill Road.

At least two people were transported to CCH with injuries not believed to be life-threatening at the time of this report.

Route 28 needed to reduced to one lane for a period of time while first responders worked the scene. Traffic needed to also be completely shut down at times to allow emergency vehicles access to the scene. Traffic was noticeably slowed and backed up in both directions.

According to one witness, a driver who was struck in the intersection apparently took immediate evasive action which may have prevented a more severe head-on collision… again, investigators have not yet officially confirmed any details.

The Barnstable Police Department are investigating the crash with the assistance of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department.

The following video highlights the busy scene…
