HYANNIS – [DEVELOPING] – In the following HN Video you’ll hear an interview with Captain Jeffrey Huska of the Hyannis Fire Department. He describes the scene where police and firefighters rushed to a local hotel pool after bystanders found a 48-year-old woman under the water.
The drowning call took place earlier this evening, shortly after 8:00 pm, at the indoor pool of the Resort and Conference Center on Scudder Ave.
A 48-year-old female was pulled from the pool by bystanders. She was initially unresponsive and not breathing.
Barnstable Police arrived on scene first and started doing rescue breathing until Hyannis Rescue medics arrived and took over resuscitation efforts.
Thanks to rescue efforts, the female victim may survive. In the ambulance she began breathing on her own and started to open her eyes…
