OSTERVILLE –
At about 11:21PM last evening, about 20 first responders rushed to the intersection of Route 28 & Old East Osterville Rd. for a head-on collision with serious injuries…

 

The following is the actual COMM FD press statement:

The C-O-MM Fire Rescue department responded to the report of a head on collision at Route 28 and Old East Osterville Road involving two vehicles. Two persons in one vehicle and one person in the other vehicle. All occupants were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries, Med flight was requested but due to prolonged ETA was canceled. Route 28 was closed down in both directions for approximately one half hour, upon completion of the accident investigation the roadway was re-opened at 2357. Assisting on scene were Barnstable Police and Cotuit Fire.

Early morning airlift operations from Barnstable Municipal Airport…

The following video highlights at least one airlift from Barnstable Municipal Airport a couple of hours after the crash. It’s not unusual for Rescue teams to transport patients quickly to CCH (as they did with all 3 patients from the above crash), where they are attended to before being Medflighted to one of the regional trauma centers…

NOTE: At the time of this report, it has NOT been officially confirmed whether the airlifted patient(s) are from Osterville crash.
