HYANNIS – Police arrived and immediately noticed the man’s face was swollen beyond recognition.

At about 1:27AM this morning, Barnstable squad cars rushed to the Cumberland Farms on West Main Street for what was initially believed to be some type of robbery.

A middle aged man had been severely beaten and kicked in the face. The suspects were seen walking away from the area … and they were later detained nearby.

As you will see in the following HN Video, the victim initially did not want to go with rescue… but was eventually convinced it was in his best interest to go to hospital for treatment.

Two men were arrested and charged with felony Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, to wit Shod Foot…

The incident remains under investigation and no further details were available at the time of this report.
