UPDATE – BPD MEDIA STATEMENT: Warrant Arrest
On April 5, 2018 shortly after midnight, Barnstable Police executed an arrest warrant at a residence on General Patton Drive in Hyannis. The warrant was issued for the arrest of 20-year-old Delton Stanley Jr. of Hyannis, on a probation violation stemming from an Assault by Firearm case in Barnstable in November of 2017. Stanley allegedly violated terms of his probation and the warrant issued sometime on 4/4/18.
Stanley was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Barnstable Police Department where he was booked on the warrant and held pending a court appearance on 4/5/18.
Initial HN Coverage:
HYANNIS – As you will see in the following HN Video, a small procession of Barnstable squad cars descended on 18 General Patton Drive this morning at about 12:30AM.
18 General Patton Drive is the scene of the recent March 19th armed home invasion which led to the arrest of 5 individuals, each charged with several serious felonies.
Because of the recent incident, HN began documenting this morning’s scene after noticing officers preparing to head that way…
… but today’s scene was supposedly not related to the recent home invasion. According to sources, this morning’s warrant arrest – which required most of the officers assigned to Hyannis last evening – was for an unrelated probation issue.
The video highlights a man being arrested and transported back to BPD Headquarters, where he is expected to be held overnight…
HN NOTE: It’s perhaps important to point out that particular part of General Patton Drive has been the scene of several violent incidents in recent months, including gun-play and felony assaults… which is likely the reason for this morning’s higher than normal show of force.
