Man allegedly tried to pass a counterfeit bill to purchase smokes…
WAREHAM – The gas station clerk took one look at the bill and wasn’t having it…
Last week – Wednesday, February 6 at about 11:15 a.m. – Wareham Police Officers responded to Cape Cod Gas at 3037 Cranberry Hwy, East Wareham, for a report of a male who attempted to pass a counterfeit bill to purchase cigarettes, according to a WPD media statement.
The clerk didn’t accept the bill…
… but Officers Matthew Donovan and Gerrett Smith were able to locate the male a short time later.
After an investigation, Michael Pina, age 33, “of no certain address,” was arrested and charged with Uttering a Counterfeit Note.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law…
