Debby Does Double Standards

NEWS BRIEF: Tampa - Florida - A former teacher serving house arrest for having sex with a 14-year-old student was arrested Tuesday for violating probation. Debra Lafave allegedly discussed her personal life with a teen at her place of work. 

She could face actual jail time. 

Normally, sex offenders receive harsh treatment in the criminal justice system.  But Debra Lafave is a particularly attractive sex offender and many people believe that this one fact lessons the severity of the crime perpetrated against the 14-year-old student, who happens to be a boy.

This case raises many interesting questions regarding the many double standards existing in "our" criminal justice system.
