YARMOUTH – Police are saying, Justin Richard Jorgensen (see actual booking photo, left), age 21, of 3 Lonesome Way, Harwich, is being charged with Felony Assault with Intent to Murder and Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon after a fight behind a local Dunkin Donuts.

Police also believe the fight may have been over drugs.

On Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at 10:10pm, Yarmouth Patrol Officers responded to the Dunkin Donuts at 1050 Route 28 in South Yarmouth for a report of a disturbance.

Officers Capobianco, McClelland, and Noone arrived and discovered 21-year-old JORGENSEN with fresh blood on his hands and shirt.  JORGESEN then told officers he had recently been in a fight with another male who had already had left the scene.

At the same time, Yarmouth officers also responded to 38A Wedgemere Road in West Yarmouth after receiving a 911 report of a stabbing.

Officers Sprague, Dimitres, and Sergeant Lanata arrived at the Wedgemere address and assisted a 20-year-old male bleeding profusely from his head and abdomen.

Yarmouth Rescue workers were immediately summoned, treating the victim for serious stab wounds.  The victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

JORGENSEN was arrested and held overnight on $5,000 cash bail at Yarmouth Police Headquarters.  He was scheduled for arraignment in the Barnstable District Court this morning.

The alleged knife used in the attack was recovered at the scene.

Members of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s C.S.I. Unit were called and provided evidence collection services at each scene and at Cape Cod Hospital.

Anyone with any additional information about this violent crime is urged to contact Yarmouth Police Detective Charles Earl Peterson at 508-775-0445 extension 125.
