On Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 5:50PM—Yarmouth Police Detective Russell Giammarco observed a passing motor vehicle swerve to avoid striking two men who were in the middle of the travel lane on Winslow Gray Road near the intersection of Forest Road in South Yarmouth.

As Detective Giammarco encountered the two men, one rode away on a bicycle and the other began yelling and threatening Detective Giammarco repeatedly with profanities and violent threats.  Detective Giammarco radioed for assistance and attempted to take the subject in to custody.

The subject verbally and physically resisted and fought the Detective as they both fell to the ground.  Yarmouth Police Patrol Officer David S. Dickey Sr. and Patrol Sergeant Frances L. Hennessey arrived and were able to overcome the attack and subdue the subject and place him under arrest.

  • 9 inch folding knife
