.

It is with deep regret that the Yarmouth Fire Department announces the death of Deputy Chief Peter A. Raiskio from duty related causes on the night of February 14, 2007.

Deputy Raiskio passed away after battling lung cancer for the past 4 months. He had continued to work as much as possible and had worked two half days this week.

He leaves us after dedicating over 40 years to the Fire Service, 35 of those years as a full time member of this Department serving in every rank from Firefighter to Deputy Chief.

Visiting hours will be held at the Morris Funeral Home on Long Pond Drive in South Yarmouth on Sunday, February 18, 2007 from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M.

Firefighters are scheduled to enter as a group at 4 P.M.  Firefighters are asked to park in the Stop and Shop parking lot across from the Funeral Home. A Memorial Church Service will be held on Monday February 19, 2007 at 11 A.M. at the first Congregational Church of Yarmouth Port.  Firefighters attending in Class “A” Uniforms are requested to assemble by 10:30 A.M. behind YFD Station 2 for a procession to the services.
