WEST YARMOUTH- On Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at approximately 8:00 PM, the Yarmouth Police Department responded to a citizen complaint regarding a disturbance on Circuit Road North in West Yarmouth. Yarmouth Police Patrol Officer Bradley J. Donahue arrived in the neighborhood and was informed by the victim that a neighborhood man had backed his red Ford pickup truck up to her parked vehicle and deliberately spun the rear tires spewing rocks and dirt on to the front of her vehicle.
Patrol Officer Donahue confirmed the report by speaking with a separate witness and observed the fresh tire marks and damaged to the parked vehicle. Patrol Officer Donahue went to the home of the suspect and placed him under arrest. The suspect was booked at Yarmouth Police Headquarters and subsequently bailed by the Bail Commissioner on personal recognizance.
At approximately 10:00 PM, the Yarmouth Police Department received another call from the same victim reporting that the same neighbor had returned home and was harassing her by parking the same red Ford pickup truck with its high beam headlights on and directly facing their home.
Patrol Officer Bradley J. Donahue responded to the residence and observed the pick up truck running unattended with its headlights shining into the windows of the victim’s home. Patrol Officer Donahue attempted to locate the truck owner but no one answered at the residence. Patrol Officer Donahue shut the vehicle off, seized its keys, secured the truck and then returned to Yarmouth Police Headquarters to file additional charges.
Within minutes, the victim called the Yarmouth Police Department again reporting that the suspect had exited his home, restarted the truck and turned its high beams on. In addition, he started a silver Dodge pickup truck and put its high beam headlights on in the same exact fashion.
Patrol Officer Donahue returned to the area and located the suspect. Patrol Officer Donahue placed him under arrest and transported him to Yarmouth Police Headquarters where he was held overnight without bail.
He was scheduled for arraignment today in the Barnstable District Court.
