WANTED: Information on 26 Car Breaks Last 2 Nights in Dennis

DENNIS- Dennis Police are investigating seventeen incidents of motor vehicle Breaking and Entering which occurred overnight (March 2, 2007) in the South Dennis and Dennisport areas of town.
In each instance the vehicles were UNLOCKED and parked in a residential setting, either in a driveway or roadway adjacent to a residence.
Dennis Police are asking the public to lock their vehicles and not to leave items of value in them.
Additionally we are asking the public to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
Additional Information
15 of the car breaks occurred in the Meadowspring Dr (off Route 134) area of South Dennis.
Three males were observed walking on Meadowspring Dr. at about 1:30am by a resident who was returning home. Each of the males was described as wearing dark clothing. One of the males was described as being a white male, with dark hair and appeared to be in his late teens or early 20’s.
Nothing is being reported as missing from the vehicles in 14 of the breaks but the cars were rummaged through along with the glove boxes.
In the remaining break (in this area) a car stereo system was taken from the vehicle.
The remaining two breaks occurred on roads located off of Upper County Rd.: 1 vehicle on Winchester Dr. and the other on Indian Trail in Dennisport.
Nothing was reported missing in either of these breaks.
UPDATE: Subday March 4, 2007
Dennis Police are investigating eight car breaks which occurred sometime overnight on Saturday into Sunday March 3rd-4th, this time in the village of North Dennis. This brings the total number of car breaks which have been reported to the Dennis Police since Saturday morning at twenty-six.
The latest breaks occurred in the Whittier Dr. area of Town, an area located off of South Yarmouth Rd.
In each instance the vehicle was UNLOCKED.
As in the previous nights break-ins the contents of the vehicles were rummaged through and in only two of the breaks were any items reported taken.
It is believed that the breaks occurred around 1:00AM, a time one of the victims reported hearing her dog barking.
Again police wish to remind residents to lock their vehicles and not leave valuables in them.
Also to report any suspicious activity they may hear or see immediately to the police.
