HYANNIS- Two Brothers were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries from two separate accidents, less than two blocks away from each other, within the same half hour, while using the same motorcycle.

The first accident was dispatched at 3:03pm and occurred at the intersection of South Street and Ocean Street.  The call went out to First Responders as a car vs. motorcycle.  A man was treated on scene (top photo) and then transported to the Emergency Room.

The Second accident involved the brother (bottom photos) of the first accident victim.  About a half hour after the first crash, the brother got on the very same motorcycle that was involved in the first accident and began to drive towards Main Street

About two blocks away the brother turned onto Main Street and was involved in a collision with a red Jeep.

At 3:31pm two Barnstable Police units were just clearing the scene of the first accident, one reminding the other that he still had his emergency lights flashing, when suddenly they had to turn around and hurry back to the new nearby accident scene.

This time it was the brother who received emergency medical treatment at the new scene.  This time, however, the brother needed to be lifted off the pavement using a stretcher.

Both brother’s injuries were described as non life-threatening according to Lt. Kenny of the Hyannis Fire Department.

Both firefighters and police helped load the ill-fated bike onto a tow truck before double checking the accident scene for additional hazards.
