Patrol Officer Mark F. Noone has been selected to become the newest Patrol Officer for the Yarmouth Police Department.
Patrol Officer Noone ranked number one in the Yarmouth Police Department's recent hiring process and is currently in a 12-week field training program patrolling with Yarmouth Police Patrol Field Training Officer Sean Brewer.
Patrol Officer Noone is a former full-time Brockton School Police Officer. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Municipal Police Academy in Weymouth. He is a graduate of Brockton High School and has a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from Stonehill College in Easton.
Patrol Officer Noone in uniform in the photo is the recent recipient of the statewide 2006 George L. Hanna Award for Bravery for his heroism displayed during an incident in Brockton. While off-duty—Patrol Officer Noone overheard multiple gunshots and observed a suspect running away from a convenience store parking lot where, as it tuned out, the suspect had just shot two men.
Patrol Officer Noone pursued the suspect—captured him—and placed him under arrest for murder. Patrol Officer Noone is replacing Patrol Officer Albert Roth III who left the YPD force after 20 dedicated years of service and is now a Crime Scene Investigator with the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office.
