There was obviously a violent confrontation in the family home on Easter Sunday. District Attorney Michael O'keefe said: "There was a dispute... obviously... between a husband and a wife that ended tragically as it sometimes does in these events. Suffice it to say that the injuries ... are part of the mitigating circumstances that we will be exploring." He declined to elaborate beyond that. "The severity of the charges to be filed will ultimately be left up to the Grand Jury."
It was reported that both sons have had long standing problems with their father because of his volatile personality. It was reported that he would get angry and throw things around.
HyannisNews spoke with a person who identified himself as Thomas Knapp who said he felt compelled to come to the court house to speak his mind. Knapp claims that he has worked with Lancaster on his Charter Boat. Knapp told HyannisNews, "Anyone who knew him would not be surprised." He went on to describe Lancaster as a person with a very aggressive, volatile, personality.
