The Yarmouth Police Relief Association hosted its annual awards ceremony on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Skippy’s Pier One Restaurant in South Yarmouth. This special event—organized by Patrol Officers Albert Sprague and Paul Mellet—recognized the outstanding work performed by the men and women of the Yarmouth Police Department in 2006.
Named Police Officer of the Year was Patrol Officer Nicholas R. Pasquerosa. Officer Pasquerosa is a veteran Officer who has also been the Yarmouth Police Department's School Resource Officer at Dennis Yarmouth Regional High School for many years. He also is the Director of Yarmouth Citizens Police Academy and is a firearms instructor for the department. Officer Nick, as he is fondly known to the students at DY High School, is a dedicated police officer who like many other Yarmouth Officers gives generously of his time for the betterment of the community, well beyond the duties required of him by his position as a police officer. He also received an Officer of the Quarter Award, Exceptional Service Award, and Honorable Investigation Award at the annual awards ceremony.
The Reserve Officer of the Year Award went to Reserve Police Officer Richard Carroll.
Police Officer of the Quarter Awards went to Patrol Officer Nicholas Pasquerosa, Patrol Investigator Scott Lundegren, Detective Sergeant Kevin Lennon, and Patrol Officer Albert Sprague.
Lifesaving Awards were presented to Patrol Officer Albert Sprague, Patrol Investigator George Tsoukalas, Patrol Officer Michael Zontini, and Patrol Officer Andrew O’ Malley.
Exceptional Service Awards were presented to K9 Patrol Officer Peter McClelland, K9 Patrol Officer Marc Thibeault, Patrol Officer Nicholas Pasquerosa, and Dennis Police Patrol Officer Gregory Farnkoff.
A Special Investigation Award was presented to Patrol Sergeant Patrick Carty.
Honorable Investigation Awards were were presented to Patrol Sergeant Patrick S. Carty who captured two awards, Patrol Officer Nicholas Pasquerosa, Dennis Police Patrol Officer Gregory Farnkoff, Patrol Investigator Scott Lundegren, Patrol Officer Paul Mellet, and Patrol Investigator Christopher Van Ness.
Honorable Mention Awards went to Patrol Officer Michael Kramer,K9 Patrol Officer Marc Thibeault, and Lieutenant Frank G. Frederickson.
