HYANNIS- It was just after midnight when Hyannis News came upon four men struggling with a bloody-faced man who suddenly fell and passed out on the pavement in a secluded area in large parking lot on North Street. Foul play was not out of the question, especially when one of the males seemingly tried to quickly “exit, stage left…”
A Massachusetts State Trooper arrived shortly thereafter, followed by several Barnstable Police units. Hyannis Rescue also arrived and administered first aid to what turned out to be a bridegroom who was out for one last night of drinking, banging heads, and wrestling around with the boys.
.
The previously stricken bridegroom turned out to be okay after being treated and later released at the scene. As for his pals, the one hurrying off away from the body turned out to be the designated driver on his way to retrieve the car so he could safely whisk the groom away. He apparently wanted his soon to be wed buddy to avoid any potential troubles with law on what might possibly be his last night of freedom.
