4/28/07  At approximately 8:00 PM Saturday evening there was a three car crash on Route 28 in Centerville causing injuries to multiple persons who were transported to Cape Cod Hospital. The accident happened a few hundred feet west of the Centerville Osterville Marstons Mills Fire Station and Route 28 was completely blocked for nearly one hour.

According to Barnstable Sergeant Clarke at the scene, two pickup trucks were traveling west bound on Route 28 when the first pickup truck attempted to make a left turn into the Oak Tree Village apartment complex on the south side of Route 28. The first pickup truck was hit from behind by the second truck sending the truck attempting to turn  into the side of a silver passenger vehicle traveling eastbound. The first pickup truck then continued down an embankment and landed completely off the road about 75 to 100 feet off the roadway onto a grassy area on the south side of Route 28 near the apartments and the second truck remained in the travel lane with extensive debris scattered upon the roadway.

The silver passenger car was spun around landing at the side of the pavement facing cross ways of the highway. Barnstable County Sheriff Officers were at the scene taking photos to assist with the investigation.

Hyannis news will update this story with additional photos and videos from the scene shortly.
