CENTERVILLE- April 29, 2007 at 6:32 PM Sunday evening, Barnstable Police responded to an armed robbery at the Cape Cod Chicken Restaurant that specializes in rotisserie roasted chicken and take out at the Centerville Plaza located near the corner of Route 28 and Old Stage Road.

Multiple Barnstable Police Units including detectives, and K-9 Officer Troy Perry responded to the scene. K-9 Officer Perry and his partner tracked the suspect into the nearby cemetary, where the track ended.

Barnstable County Sheriff's Department Criminal Investigation Officers were also called to the scene to take photos and dust for finger prints.

The suspect is described as a white male, in his late 20's or early 30's, height 5'10" to 6'0," dark short cropped hair, full eyebrows, dark complexion, wearing a dark grey hoodie, blue jean cutoffs, and work boots.

The suspect who was caught on video in the restaurant showed a silver and black automatic handgun. The suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.

At one point a possible suspect was picked up on Old Stage Road and brought to the scene but witnesses said this person was not the perpetrator and he was returned to where he was picked up by police.

Police officers fanned out throughout the area and checked videos from other stores nearby. The perpetrator is still at large but police do have the name of a possible suspect.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses and working on a composit sketch.
