CENTERVILLE - Shortly after 9:00 AM Tuesday, a Dark Gray Toyota Tundra pickup truck with an extensive roof rack and bed cap was traveling in the direction of Phinney's Lane on Great Marsh Road when it struck a large tree near the corner of Point of Pines Road and rolled over on its side.
The impact caused extensive damage to the vehicle and ripped the left front wheel from the truck, but fortunately the driver was apparently not seriously injured.
The accident is being investigated by Barnstable Police, assisted by Barnstable Country Sheriff's Office Identification Officers. COMM Fire rescue was at the scene, but it was not immediately believed that anyone was transported to the hospital. COMM was seen using absorbent materials to remove spilled liquids coming from the trucks engine area. The was a smell of gasoline in the air.
Great Marsh Road was completely blocked off for over one hour while the truck was up righted and removed from the scene by Buckler's Towing.
