RAW VIDEO: Brawl Outside Pufferbellies, at least 3 Arrested

HYANNIS- At approximately 1:00am a fight broke out in the middle of a large group outside of Pufferbellies.  At least three men were arrested for Disorderly Conduct and other possible charges...

Note: Weather conditions were not optimal while capturing this video footage due to wind driven rain and sudden gusts. 

"Raw" Footage:  Also note that concern was expressed over and over again about the man on the ground. (I chose not edit my repetitive commentary for it reflects the urgency of the situation, as also was expressed over the police radio just prior to my arrival.)  I was initially expecting the worst due to a recent triple stabbing outside the very same nightclub at closing.  Initial officers on the scene requested all available units for backup.  Fortunately many police units were nearby and arrived immediately, preventing the situation from getting completely out hand.

At this point, however, I'm relieved to report that none of these young men and women appeared to be seriously injured.  Security ensuring the safety of the young patrons of this club has been an ongoing concern for both police and Hyannis News over the past several months.

Tonight, multiple Barnstable Police Units, including Massachusetts State Troopers needed to respond to this incident, tying up many of the area's first responders at a time when many other Hyannis bars and clubs are also breaking up.   

I have met and spoken with many of these young adults.  Most of them are good "kids" (at least twenty years younger than I) looking for a secure place to meet and have fun.  In the past Pufferbellies has hosted many "under age" nights, where the 18 and over crowd has been allowed entry to mingle with the drinking age crowd; I'm not sure if tonight was one of those nights.  Obviously something more needs to be done at Pufferbellies to ensure that their numerous patrons can enjoy the evening safely.

Another concern is that police officers are often largely outnumbered in these situations making it even more dangerous for everyone involved.
