HYANNIS- Hate graffiti directed at The Pope was discovered on structures near the playing fields to the rear of Pope John Paul II High School.
The graffiti included satanic markings.
Barnstable Police are aware of the incident and are investigating it as possibly being related to the graffiti found last week at a Baptist Church, High School, and surrounding businesses. Police are reluctant to call this a hate crime at this point. (see related stories)

Over the past week Saint Francis Xavier Church, its prep school, and Pope John Paul II High School have been the target of several malicious incidents. Someone driving a 4-wheel drive truck tore up the playing fields, while yet another person was chased off after trying to start some type of fire near to the Church buildings… This hate graffiti is serious enough yet reflects a much larger attack on the faithful based on ignorance and media generated hate.
. The local CC Times, true to thier anti-Catholic agenda, allowed these ignorant defamatory anti-Catholic HATE rants to loom large on their website throughout the day (in order from most recent to oldest):
