Origional Story: HYANNIS- Saturday morning at approximately 3:45am Officer Dan Ruth was just clearing a routine check of an alarm at a local business when he observed a white Dodge pickup truck make swerve into the oncoming lane of travel as it was turning onto North Street.
Officer Ruth quickly followed the truck, stopping it at the intersection of Main and Sea Streets for failing to stay within marked lanes. Officer Pete Myrbeck arrived moments later to assist with the stopped vehicle which had two occupants.
Upon further investigation officers discovered that the operator had a fake Brazilian driver’s license. Officer Myrbeck confirmed this by using a blue LED light which was unable to illuminate official identification markings.
Officer Ruth placed the driver under arrest for being in possession of a falsified RMV document, which is a felony charge. Essentially the operator did not possess a valid driver’s license and was using the fake license in effort to deceive law enforcement and others.
While Officer Ruth placed the man in the back of his cruiser, Officer Myrbeck performed an inventory of the vehicle’s contents. The truck was towed from the scene.
